Are you a bit pressed for time this holiday but still want to see the iconic Nusa Penida locations that fill your Instagram feed? With its dramatic cliffs, pristine beaches, and breath-taking viewpoints, Nusa Penida offers a slice of paradise just a short boat ride from the mainland. Last year we embarked on a day trip to this beautiful island and, while unfortunately the tour we took is no longer operating, I found a new alternative that offers even more highlights for a cheaper price!
Here’s everything you need to know about the Bali: Nusa Penida East & West Highlights Full-Day Tour.
Yes the water really is that blue!
Getting There
Your journey will start early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel in Bali. Getting around Bali is incredibly cheap and affordable, so if hotel pickup isn't available for your address, it is easy to book a Grab car (Asia's equivalent of Uber) to the port of Sanur. Once there, you'll board the ferry to Nusa Penida where the ride takes about 45min, and while it was a bit bumpy, the ocean views were worth it.
Exploring the Best of Nusa Penida
Upon arrival, you'll meet your friendly local guide, who'll give you an overview of your itinerary. The tour covers both East and West Nusa Penida, ensuring you experience the island’s top attractions in just one day.
1. Kelingking Beach – The Iconic T-Rex Cliff
Your first stop is Kelingking Beach, one of the most famous viewpoints in Bali. The towering limestone cliffs form a T-Rex-shaped peninsula, and the panoramic views were nothing short of breath-taking.
2. Broken Beach & Angel’s Billabong – Natural Wonders
Next, you'll visit Broken Beach, a stunning coastal formation where an arched rock bridge frames the ocean. The turquoise waters crashing against the cliffs made for an unforgettable sight. Nearby, you'll explore Angel’s Billabong, a natural infinity pool where the waves gently lap into the crystal-clear lagoon.
3. Diamond Beach & Atuh Beach – East Nusa Penida’s Treasures
After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head to the East side of the island to visit Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach. The stairway down to Diamond Beach is steep but manageable, and stepping onto the soft white sand with towering cliffs around you feels surreal. Atuh Beach, just nearby, offered a more secluded escape with its peaceful vibes and dramatic coastal rock formations.
4. Molateng Tree House – A Hidden Gem
One of the most unique stops on your tour is the Molateng Tree House, a charming wooden house perched on a cliff with sweeping ocean views. This hidden gem provides a breath-taking panoramic perspective of the coastline, making it a perfect spot for photos and a moment of serenity. It’s a must-visit for those looking to experience a different side of Nusa Penida’s beauty.
Why This Tour Is Worth It

Tips to Keep in Mind
Wear Comfortable Shoes: The terrain can be rocky, and some stairways are steep.
Bring Sunscreen & Water: The sun is strong, and hydration is key.
MY BIGGEST TIP: Be prepared for a rough ride as the roads can be incredibly bumpy. I suggest bringing travel sick pills even if you don't get travel sick - just in case.
